सोलापूर : ज्येष्ठ साहित्यिक प्रा. डॉ. ‘ मीर इसहाक शेख यांचे आज सोमवारी (ता.28) दुपारी निधन झाले. मागील महिन्यात त्यांना कोरोनाचा संसर्ग झाला होता. कोरोनातून बरे झालेल्या प्रा. शेख यांना पोस्ट कोविडच्या समस्यांनी ग्रासले होते. त्यातच त्यांचे आज दुपारी १२ च्या सुमारास निधन झाले. त्यांच्या पश्चात २ मुली,२ मुले जावई सूना नातवंडे असा परिवार आहे.
प्रा. शेख हे निर्मलकुमार फडकुले संकुलाचे ट्रस्टी होते. त्याशिवाय मनपा शिक्षण मंडळाचे सभापती म्हणूनही त्यांनी काम केले आहे.

प्रा. शेख हे मुस्लीम मराठी साहित्य चळवळीचे एक संस्थापक होते. त्यांनी स्वातंत्र्य मागणारी उर्दू कविता, लक्ष्मीबाई टिळकांची स्मृतीचित्रे, मराठी स्वांतंत्र्यगीतांवरील पुस्तक लिहीले आहे. अलिकडे त्यांनी जागतीक पातळीवर गाजलेल्या ‘अर्ररहीकुल मख्तूम’ या प्रेषित चरित्राचे मराठी भाषांतर केले होते.
त्यांचे हजरत बिलाल यांच्यावरील एक भाषांतरीत पुस्तक गाजीउद्दीन रिसर्च सेंटरकडून प्रकाशित केले जात आहे. शिवाय त्यांनी मौलाना शिबली नोमानी लिखित ‘अल् फारुख’ चे मराठी भाषांतर जवळपास पूर्ण केले होते.
