संयुक्त अरब अमिरातीत रंगलेल्या टी २० विश्वचषक स्पर्धेत प्राथमिक फेरीतच भारतीय संघाचे आव्हान संपल्याने क्रिकेट रसिकांचा हिरमोड झाला आहे. भारत या स्पर्धेत हॉट फेव्हरेट समजला जात होता. भारतच ही स्पर्धा जिंकून दुसऱ्यांदा टी २० विश्वचषक जिंकेल असा विश्वास देशातील क्रिकेट रसिकांना होता मात्र सुरवातीच्या दोन सामन्यातच भारतीय संघातील खेळाडूंनी हाराकीरी करून सामने गमावले.
सुरवातीलाच झालेल्या दारुण पराभवामुळे भारतीय संघ बॅकफूटवर गेला त्यातून तो सावरलाच नाही. पाकिस्तान आणि न्यूझीलंड विरुद्धचे महत्वाचे सामने गमवल्यानंतर अफगाणिस्तान, स्कॉटलंड आणि नामीबिया या देशांविरुध्द भारताने चमकदार कामगिरी करुन मोठे विजय मिळवले मात्र भारताची ही कामगिरी वराती मागून घोडे या म्हणीप्रमाणे ठरली. भारताने अशीच कामगिरी सुरवातीला केली असती तर आज भारतीय संघ उपांत्यफेरीत पोहचला असता.
असो आता जर तर ला अर्थ नाही भारतीय संघ स्पर्धेबाहेर पडला हे सत्य नाकारून चालणार नाही. भारतीय संघाने झालेल्या पराभवातून धडा घ्यावा. झालेल्या पराभवाचा विचार करण्याऐवजी भारतीय संघाने आता भविष्याचा विचार करावा. आजच्या भारतीय संघाची परिस्थिती २००७ सालच्या भारतीय संघासारखी झाली आहे. २००७ साली वेस्ट इंडिज मध्ये झालेल्या ५० षटकांच्या विश्वचषक स्पर्धेत भारतीय संघ विजेतेपदाचा प्रबळ दावेदार समजला जात होता.

नवीन संघ, नवा कर्णधार, नवा प्रशिक्षक यांनी संघाला विजय पथावर नेले आणि अवघ्या सहा महिन्यांत भारतीय संघ टी २० चा विश्वविजेता बनला इतकेच नाही तर २०११ साली ५० षटकांचा विश्वविजेता बनला. आताच्या भारतीय संघाने त्यासंघाकडून प्रेरणा घ्यावी. आताही भारताला नवा कर्णधार आणि नवा प्रशिक्षक लाभणार आहे. १७ नोव्हेंबर पासून न्यूझीलंडचा संघ भारत दौऱ्यावर येत आहे.
या दौऱ्यापासून भारतीय संघाने पुन्हा नव्याने सुरवात करावी. टी २० विश्वचषकात आलेले अपयश विसरून भारतीय संघाने पुन्हा एकदा नव्याने सुरुवात करावी. नवा कर्णधार रोहित शर्मा आणि नवा प्रशिक्षक राहुल द्रविड यांनी संघाला प्रेरणा देऊन संघाची पुनर्बांधणी करावी आणि संघाला विजय पथावर न्यावे. भारतीय संघाने झाले गेले विसरून सारे पुढे पुढे चालावे….
